Statutory Requirements: |
three or four members external to the Department of Community Development. Terms of reference:
·Carries out a review of the operation of relevant policies, procedures and organisational systems of the Department in circumstances where a child known to the Department for Community Development has died;
·On completion of the review prepares a written report setting out
-advice or comments on the operation of the policies, procedures and systems referred to in paragraph (a); and
-recommendations (if any) for the improvement or modification of those policies, procedures and systems,
-and provides the report to the Minister and the Director General;
·Identifies particular classes of child deaths or related issues that may benefit from further investigation or research; and
·Performs such other functions in relation to child deaths as the Minister directs.
·As soon as practical after 1 July in each year prepares and gives to the Minister and Director General a report on its operations and proceedings for the preceding year.
