Statutory Requirements: |
The Legal Costs Committee is to consist of the following members: (a) a chairperson who is to be: (i) a Judge of the Supreme Court or the District Court; or (ii) a legal practitioner of not less than 8 years' standing; (b) 2 legal practitioners in private practice nominated under section 208; and (c) 3 persons who are not legal practitioners, at least one of whom is to be an accountant in private practice who is an associate or fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or the Australian Society of Accountants. The members are to be appointed by the Governor.
