Statutory Requirements: Chairperson Appointed on nomination of the Minister. Members - One (1) person appointed as a member and Deputy Chairperson who is an officer of the Department of Local Government and Regional Development, nominated by the Director General of that Department and approved by the Minister. Three (3) other members appointed on the nomination of the Minister: one is to represent local government districts which are in the metropolitan area; one is to represent local government districts which are shires and are not in the metropolitan area; and one is to represent local government districts which are cities and towns and are not in the metropolitan area.
