Statutory Requirements: |
State mining engineer who is to be chairperson of the Board; 5 persons appointed by the Minister (2 must be persons who hold authorised mine surveyor's certificates and are currently engaged in the mining industry and who are nominated by the body known as the Institution of Engineering and Mining Surveyors Australia Inc - Western Australian Division, 1 must be a member of the teaching staff of a course in mine surveying at Curtin Uni WA School of Mines, a college of TAFE or tertiary education institution or equivalent, who holds a recognised qualification, & 1 must be a person nominated by the Surveyor General). The board may coopt any person having relevant specialised knowledge or experience but a person so coopted is not entitled to vote. A quorum of the Board is 4 persons. Decisions must be made by a majority of the members of the Board present at the meeting. |
