Statutory Requirements: |
to consist of 14 members of whom: (a) one is to be the Executive Director ex officio and one is to be another officer of the Department appointed by the Minister; (b) 2 are to be persons appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the body known as the Rock Lobster and Prawning Association of Australia Inc.; (c) 8 are to be persons appointed by the Minister in accordance with the prescribed procedure who engage in the commercial fishing of rock lobster; (d) one is to be a person appointed by the Minister who engages in the recreational fishing of rock lobster; and
(e) one is to be a person appointed by the Minister who in the Minister's opinion: (i) is independent of the Department and of the rock lobster industry; and (ii) has relevant expertise in business management, economics, marketing, fisheries management or fisheries research. |
